Just in time for summer, Goodwill ~ Redwood Empire has added a large gently used book section in the Rohnert Park retail store located at 6592 Commerce Boulevard. Modeled after Goodwill’s expanded used book section at the Stony Point Road store in Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park’s store has more than 10,000 books for children and adults. The low cost of these second-hand books can help parents expand home libraries. This is especially important during summer months when learning loss can occur in children who do not have books to read at home.
According to Mark Ihde, President and CEO at Goodwill ~ Redwood Empire, “we have been planning to increase the used book selection at the Rohnert Park store for the past few years. Numerous shoppers, especially with young children, have told us how they enjoy coming to the Stony Point store partly because of the large book section. We are excited the layout of the Rohnert Park store allowed us to do a similar expanded book selection there.”
The revenue from the thousands of books Goodwill ~ Redwood Empire sells each year supports Goodwill programs that help people find and keep jobs through services such as job search skills, financial literacy, work experience, job coaching and career development.
