Goodwill Industries of the Redwood Empire Helps Ukiah Fire Victims

Tuesday, Mar 5, 2013

Goodwill Industries of the Redwood Empire (GIRE) is partnering with the American Red Cross to help the children and adults affected by Monday’s fire at the Fircrest Apartment complex in Ukiah. Through Sunday, March 10, 2013, Goodwill’s Ukiah retail store (located at 1005 N. State Street) will be accepting material donations of gently used items to support the fire victims. The items collected will be converted into a Goodwill store credit for each of the individuals and families to use towards purchasing needed items.

“Through our retail stores, Goodwill has the unique opportunity of assisting the displaced fire victims in regaining some of the items they have lost through this unfortunate incident. We are proud to be partnering with the American Red Cross to enable the fire victims to get back on their feet. Holding this special donation collection in Ukiah is just one small way we can assist the community in supporting these individuals,” said Mark Ihde, President and CEO of GIRE.
